Good questions about the application - I really don't know so I've passed this on to the consultants doing the install. I think there is something related to the application because when I specified https port 8444 in place of 8443 withing the connector I got the same error message on startup. Th

If you are running windows, have you tried to connect to IIS via HTTPS and then via AJP to tomcat? I find that this is much easier solution then trying to configure HTTPS on tomcat or apache httpd.
