I use the follow configuration to setting up two Virtual Host in server.xml
And both of them work correctly.

This is going to seem like a dumb question, but are you running the SDK
or RTE with tomcat? You need to be running the SDK.
I am pretty sure that tomcat wont start without the SDK, but worth
double checking.

bytes) in the admin, host-manager and manager logs. The Catalina. logs

I usually look in the logs I set up for my contexts or in the stdout.log.
You should see some logging from requests having hit filters, if you are
using them. The other thing you could do is start the network monitoring
tool that comes with Win 2003 server, or some similar tool, and watch
activity

I use the firewall to forward HTTP, SMTP, FTP etc request to other servers and

The other thing is the server's IP exposed to the outside world and, if it

If you used the .exe download for Tomcat, you may have APR installed.
Its SSL configuration is rather different than that for Tomcat's pure

I have setted up a tomcat to listen to ssl
on 8443 port.
When i use url https://myhost:8443/ everything works fine.
However when pointing my browser to
http://myhost:8443/
I am getting strange response .

you can mimimize http traffic by correctly linking to
http://localhost:8080/mytestapp/?qa=1 (with the slash)
Please consider that "mytestapp" should be seen as a directory by the browser.
And your first url is wrong (strictly speaking), so Tomcat tries to fix it by
a redirect.
