solution in relatively short time. (time being directly proportional
to how
easy it is to re-produce your problem in a test case)

How about constructing a T with the top, horizontal line being the
Apache feather?
The vertical line of the T could be composed of something geeky - like
1s and 0s, or something.

Well, I think it's probably a little esoteric. :) Maybe it isn't a good
logo if you don't know the stories about the fantastic memories
elephants are supposed to have.
For the record, that is what I have always guessed the Postgres logo to
symbolize. Perhaps there's another story to it.
Nick
The Postgresql elephant is a terrific logo because it suggests
elephantine memory. Just seeing a unicorn by itself doesnt really tie
itself to the project. You could depict a knight or a dragon to the same
effect - it might be something appearing on heraldic tapestries; either
way the tapestry
lks on this one. When I saw the new logo, I
really didn't like it either. I didn't understand what connection there was
with unicorns either.

Yes, a unicorn just isn't what springs to mind when you think of a
tapestry. Perhaps needle and thread, perhaps a spindle, perhaps a sowing
kit from ye olde times?

Agreed. Polish up the old one and leave it. A unicorn? WTF?
