bayes corruption: 'no such file or directory'

Hi, Since upgrading our mail relay to solaris 10 and all the latest gratest spamassassin / mimedefang / sendmail versions, i'm faced with curious bayes db corruption happening after approx. 1 day: i've got these parameters set: in sa-mimedefang.cf: use_bayes 1 bayes_auto_learn 1 bayes_path /va

Re: performance question

2006-09-27 Thread tomvo
Hi, As we have seen the amount of incoming mail increase by 25% in the last few months, our customer is willing to invest in an extra mail relay. I was thinking about a system with Sun's T1 chipset, (like the sunfire T1000), I'm thinking the threaded nature of this chipset would work well with

2006-09-27 Thread tomvo
Hi, I would like your opinion if our mailrelay is properly tuned: I have a mailrelay (sendmail / mimedefang / spamassassin with fuzzyocr, razor and dcc) running on a Sun V20Z with 6 GB Ram and 2 AMD 1.8Ghz cpu's on Solaris 10. it currently handles 95000 mails per day (most of it spam ofcourse

Hi, I did as you suggested (I modified one of the Received headers with an ip that was in one of the RBL lists) and yes, I did get several hits. I first switched to the user "defang" which is the owner of the mimedefang process, just to make sure i imitated the production environment as muc

Hi, We have fully reinstalled one of our 2 mailrelays to solaris 10 / mimedefang / spamassassin 3.1.5 / clamav. since the upgrade, i've noticed that the checks from 20_dnsbl_tests.cf don't work anymore. the file used is the one from version 3.1.5 (it has this line in it: require_version 3.001

2005-12-22 Thread tomvo
Hi, I need to change the scoring of a few particular rules, such as BAYES_99 etc. in the doc (http://spamassassin.apache.org/tests_3_1_x.html) they say i can just add a line like "score BAYES_99 2.0" or whatever a few of the scores however have several default values, dependent on whether ne

Hi, problem is solved. i noticed via solaris' truss tool that mimedefang.pl didn't read /usr/perl5/5.6.1/etc/mail/spamassassin. And this is the directory that contained the v310.pre script which by default disables dcc, pyzor and razor2 (by commenting the loadplugin keyword). I made /etc/mail/

Hi, I mentioned earlier that i thought i had found the problem (as user defang /usr/local/bin was not found in the path). Now, i'm not so sure anymore that this is the real problem. i noticed in the --lint output this line: [419] dbg: util: running in taint mode? yes [419] dbg: util: taint mode:

Hi, I think i've found it. i followed your suggestion to run spamassassin as the user it normally runs as (user defang), and when i run with --lint, defang can't find the executables anymore. they reside in /usr/local/bin, and that's not in defang's path. Something has definitely changed here.
