That looks like a documentation bug. :-) It'd be great if somebody
reported that to the bugzilla at http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org/

Probably not to me, but it might be useful to others. (I think I
already know what needs to be done.) Also, it might limit creativity
in possible solutions. We need a score ranges mechanism, we don't need
the specific one we
iscusses many of the
issues that differentiate the scoring process from most other machine
learning problems. (Then again, it might just be boring.)
Enjoy!

Perhaps pluginize the scoring mechanisms so we can have plugins that
implement different ham/spam decision rules?

This racism has no place on the SpamAssassin mailing lists.

Do you have a bug number? What problem with SIGCHLD are you talking

Essentially you would need to come up with a system in which sent mail
can be identified as ham with very minimal false positives, and very
minimal potential for abuse. (Hint: this is very difficult) Also, it
has to be palatable for the community. (This i
pre-release on a production server
(obviously). Since the scores haven't been adjusted, you will likely
get FPs or FNs beyond what you would usually expect.

Presumably you can test startup scripts without actually
rebooting... rebooting to test a startup script seems so windows-ish.

/etc/sysconfig/spamassassin, I think.

If you're using Debian, and from the sounds of it, you are, command
line options are set in /etc/default/spamassassin. Try
adding/subtracting options there.

If you lower the score to -100, it'll add roughly 50 points assuming
the long term average is roughly 0.
(My recollection of this is a little hazy and I can remember the
mathematical formula, but there doesn't seem to be a problem here.)

If your current "middle" is 2.0, multiply all scores by 2.5, so your
ham average becomes 2.5 and your spam average becomes 7.5.
