in to learn from this but I'm worried about the extra
headers and formatting that are added when forwarding. The mail
accounts are all mbox format so it also isn't possible to pass the
individual messages into be learnt.

schema up to date could become a real headache.
I suspect that at some point it might make sense to use something
like SQLite for persistence (because it's relatively easy to
distribute) which would make using alternative backends relatively easy.

to fixing the problem. Flood an SMTP with bounces because of that and
all of a sudden the problem gets addressed. For the rest: have mail
clients that you can lock down to display just text/plain and you've
solved most of the problems.

Spam coming from botnets, etc. needs to dealt with by the ISPs. In
Germany the law is now that you are liable for abuse carried out on
your network, ie. someone hacks your box or more likely WLAN then you
are still liable.

which will put debugging information in /spamd.lo
