I've tried to do so on my own instance (5.11.2.20241129 on ubuntu with mysql).
I do not get users from a domain that is not my own. I do not get the user
shows when he is in my addressbook but also has his own domain.
On my server I cannot duplikate the described behaviour ...

If users use multiple devices simultaneously, you should also have
NGMimeBuildMimeTempDirectory on an shared volume (e.g. NFS).
