But it is the same. The only thing which works is to substitute console
device for a regular file:
rm /dev/console
touch /dev/console
Then it works until next VE restart; after that console device is
recreated and it fails again.

Could that be causing a problem?

For a demonstration I setup a laptop running OpenVZ. It's a 333MHz
Pentium II, 128MB RAM, and a 6 GB hard drive. I have 3 VEs running. It
