ay too, so it should work.
We certainly run OpenVZ inside KVM virtual machines with absolutely no problem
here, other than the usual need to care about I/O performance inside the
virtual environment not cutting too much out of the inner system.

ch is what you probably want.
Be aware, though: Linux can still apply iptables firewalling to a software
bridge interface, so make sure that doesn't get in the way in your setup, if
CT0 has firewall rules applied.

uff will just work, because
it uses regular old IP routing to move traffic around.

Alas, it looks like that doesn't work on this version of OpenVZ, at least.
Still, thanks for the pointer. I will investigate and see if there is
something useful I can locate in that regard...

G'day. I have an Ubuntu 8.10 VE running successfully on one of my
systems, and it all more or less works, with one notable issue:
Some of the software I have installed depends on dbus, which in turn
depends on ConsoleKit, and that generates these warnings and errors:

G'day. I have a VE that I set up using a VETH interface rather than a

You can enable it in the same fashion you enable or disable any other

You might want to consider using a boring mount script for the VE that
puts a small, limited 'tmpfs' into /tmp on that system. That might
allow you to bypas

I really don't think your requirement is a good idea. Can you explain
why you want to do things that way?

G'day. I am using OpenVZ to split a few servers for security and
management reasons -- all the VE environments are run by me and trusted
and all that.
As part of this I want to run some software in the VE with real-time
priority threads (Asterisk, possibly other software) in our system.
Unfortun

Actually, the bug has been tracked down -- when upstart is run without
any file descriptors open (as it is under OpenVZ but not during normal
Ubuntu booting) it would accidentally close the control socket.

with Ubuntu Upstart and OpenVZ it would have been polite to start a new

I didn't have a huge degree of luck with this -- once I allocated a tty

G'day. We are looking at hosting a RHEL4 VE, which has worked fairly
well so far. The one issue we have is that we want to be able to obtain
security updates within the VE since this will be an Internet facing
system.
Now, as far as I am aware the only mechanism for doing this is to use
