Q: Can you tell me how to get rid of the gray shading between the words when
I’m working in the word processing program?

Hi i had issues with open office so deleted it nd tried twice now to
reinstall. it will not let me use your appication because it was not
downloaded from the app store. can you add it to app store??? i love open
office and wouldnt know what to do without it :( help!!!

I have a Mac office for my business and all our computers are running OO.
I suggest the problem resides in your computer. I would guess that you have
your Mac setup to not accept any 3rd party applications.
Goto System Preference>Security & Privacy and see if your setting are to
only accept appli
First time right click [ctrl + left click] and select dialogue option
to run app.
Subesequent times open as per native app.

The "non printing characters" display may be enabled.
Open the View menu and look for a check mark next to "Nonprinting
Characters". If there is a mark, click the item to unselect it. That should
remove the shading between words.

copying text from another source (likely your web browser). Non-breaking
spaces are not broken at the end of a line and are entered from the
keyboard with the Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar shortcut keys.
