I guess I didn't realize that I hadn't updated the OpoenOffice application in
far too long, so I downloaded the new version, and I was able to open the
application again and acces my documents. It seems the issue has been

What version of OpenOffice do you have installed? You may need to install a 64
bit version if you haven’t updated recently. Go to:
https://www.openoffice.org/download/
and install the most recent version.

install gracefully over the 32-bit I think that you hav now.
