You should have access to your old files from wherever you backed them up to
(external drive, cloud).
If you didn’t back them up it’s possible that you could have a computer repair
business access them from your old computer’s hard drive.

If your old hard disk is undamaged, you can still recover your data.
It is enough to connect it to any compatible computer with the 'slave'
setting and copy the data to a removable flash drive. These are also other
recovery methods, but I don't know what equipment you have.

The File Association of your documents has been changed. This is something that
Windoz is pretty aggressive about doing. To fix this open the File Explorer app
in Windows System (or the File Folder icon on the Task Bar). In the window for
