I can't confirm it either with 4.2.0
Two Bugzilla issues describe naughty behaviour of the Find toolbar: 123415 and
123790.
It started with version 3.4.0

I can also confirm with AOO 4.1.12 on Ubuntu. The same happens in Writer

makes "Format" disappear.
