I’m using the latest version of OpenOffice. I made a Spreadsheet with it and
updated it several times. Now it will not open. I get a message saying General
Error with an Okay button below it. I click Okay and OpenOffice closes. What’s
wrong? Can I recover the data

had saved the copy.

You could try RTF or legacy DOC format. OpenOffice is virtually unusable
with the newer OpenXML formats due to political reasons.
