considering OPEN OFFICE BUT WANT FEW MORE FACT FIRST

Hi there, I am considering switching to Open Office, but want to check few things first, 1) Will this update itself like MS Office does 2) this is usable with people forwarding you MS Word Documents 3) this does not interfere with your MS Programmes Setting likes Windows Mail ETC..

Recently, for no apparent reason, the British dictionary disappeared. While trying to install a new one I have encountered two problems. Firstly, whichever way I try to install the downloaded dictionary it fails. If I try to install by clicking on the downloaded dictionary file (dict-en(8).oxt)
