Open office 'check for updates’ page is open and with help and download
options high lighted but nothing will be accepted. The only option that is
available is to ‘minimize’ to the dock - not even the ‘close’ function is
available.
Please help.

I have exactly the same problem and will now also go back to version 3+ if I
can find out how to do that - I am technically illiterate!
