Problems with Open Office

I had open office 4.1.8.  It began malfunctioning.  I did a "repair."  Didn't work I removed and when trying to reinstall, found 4.1.9.  It didn't work either.  I can no longer copy/paste a word file--it turns a solid, huge blue. I made a PDF of the word file.  It will not load with OLE object. P

In addition . . .

The last time I tried to download, it was going to be in Chinese. I'm also getting a message to: Please exit 4.1.9 and Open Office 4.1.9. Quick Start.
