Unable to open/restore a backed up spreadsheet file

To whom it may concern, I had a damaged spreadsheet file. I had an earlier version of this file backed up by IDRIVE. After I downloaded the earlier undamaged spreadsheet file, I was unable to open the data file. All I ever get is a text file as seen below. What steps are needed to restore this

Your web site is very confusing when it comes to adding something to OO (Open Office)!!! I thought, maybe I shouldn't have actually THOUGHT about it, but it says to FILTER BY OPERATING SYSTEM, SO since I have windows 7, I clicked on WINDOWS, well, then the damn thing put a REMOVE by windows...
