Harvey, An afterthought. I am not certain whether there are any difficulties when replacing a newer version with an older one. You might have to uninstall Apache OpenOffice first. Let us what you needed to do to have the version roll-back successfully. - Dennis -Original Message-

Also on this site, which is the Official download site, you can find the 4.0 release. http://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html In the green tab at the top that says download Apache OpenOffice you will find a drop down tab at the very right that allows you to chose the version you want to dow

Martin, Apache OpenOffice does not export to OOXML formats (including Microsoft Office .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx forms of OOXML). There is only provision for saving to the older formats (.doc, .xls, .ppt). Current versions of LibreOffice do support export as well as import And that might work for
