Hi Alex,
you can play with the .conf file inside the etc subfolder of your RCP
application bundle and change cache and userdir parameters according to your
needs. You can set values to relative paths also.

If you open the About box you'll see some folders with the user
directory and such. I guess syncing that up would give you a portable
setup.
