Is the 10.173.128.48/49 address visible/reachable by all nodes in the
job (to include the node where mpirun is executing)? This seems to
be the problematic network.
If it is not, you might want to just disable that interface with the
oob_tcp_if_include and btl_tcp_if_include MC

I tried to look at the checksum of my version of sed, and got a
different number. I also found instructions on an Octave web page
about loading the GNU sed on a Mac, to replace the POSIX flavored one
that comes with it. I was able to load sed-4.1.4, but still don't
get your check
