We have seen a problem with OMPI-1.1.2 and 1.1.1 on gm on OSX G5's.
The application is just HPL. The runs get bad results when running
OMPI over GM but are just fine when ran over TCP (--mca btl ^gm).
The gm version is 2.0.11, We do not see this problem with lam-7.1.2

sorry about this, I understood that -d should make the output directory the
xterm, but my expectation, was to have separate xterms for each running
process that I can debug! am I completely off-track?

It should be:
mpirun np XX xterm e gdb
When the xterm windows pop-up, you will need to enter each of them and type
run
To start the program. If you want gdb to use a specific directory, you can
pass the ³-d ² argumen
