Bundling OpenMPI may be problematic and give users more trouble than you
save them as OpenMPI is very configurable and usually works best when
adapted to the available communication hardware. You might consider
asking users to install an MPI library and then install your software.

Reuti -- thanks for the comments+fix about missing "-Wl," (oops!). In addition
to yours, some more came in on https://github.com/open-mpi/ompi/pull/10624
after it was merged. I'll make a follow-on PR with these suggestions.

Hi,
Fujitsu MPI, which is currently based on Open MPI v4.0.x, supports Java
bindings.
It is because one of our customers requested to support it decade or so ago. I
don't know users are still using it. Fujitsu MPI development team regularly
receives trouble/request reports but does not receive
