we could figure it out without bothering people, and then post the final

It really helps if you tell us *something* about the problem - like what
version of OMPI you are using. :-/
At a guess, you are possibly using 1.6.x. If so, then you are missing your
default hostfile. You can work around the problem by adding "--default-hostfile
none" to the cmd line.
