reveals anything.

To force this at grub, hit a key to see the kernels menu and select
one but don't hit enter.
Hit 'E' (to edit) and scroll to the end of the 'kernel' line and add '3'.
Then hit enter and 'B' to boot.
Then you can do the steps you state
from people I do know personally.
So I'm lead to beleive that is possible the sender didn't intentionally do this.

to chainload. Adding XP to boot from
GRUB is very simple 2 lines to '/boot/grub/grub.conf'
title Windows XP
rootnoverify (hd1,0)
chainloader +1
hd1 = 2nd drive (hd0 would be first)
0 = first partition
I have not done this in a long time, but was successful in the pas
7;rpm' command.
