Jay Sorg, author of xrdp, looked at my vpaste log and
had me upgrade
xorgxrdp-0.2.2-1.fc26.x86_64
to
xorgxrdp-0.2.10-1.fc30.x86_64
# dnf --enablerepo=* upgrade
And that solved the issue!

My apologies. What I mean is that upon opening the lid the gnome login is
shown, the touchscreen monitor is functional, however the keyboard and the
trackpad of the laptop are not. However, adding external devices such mice and
keyboard work.
