When I run system-config-services,
ntpd does not show up (and does not run), but if I do service ntpd start
then it shows up in the list of service.
How can I make it run automatically after a reboot?

Sup,
I am using EPEL 6 and a garmin 18 LVC on a serial port with gpsd. I am
fairly new to the selinux environment.
ntpd is supposed to be able to access a couple of shm locations to get
time from the gps daemon.
In /var/log/messages I see :
Mar 18 00:10:11 localhost ntpd[8899]: SHM shmget
running wireless, but now
the USB wireless device is no longer seen, so instead of trying to
this this problem now, I simply plugged in my Ethernet cable in, got
my network connection back, and then I noticed that ntpd has reset
the clock to proper time, as well as my IM, browser and the rest is
workin

perhaps the latest update blew everything out of the water!
My gdm fails to bring up X11 and falls out.
I am however able to get into F2 and log in as root.
Also, I noticed during boot up, the following also fails
to start:

If it is way off, it will be a problem for ntpd so you should make sure
that the time is relatively close (i.e.
FC13/KDE4
Ntpd daemon is started in Services and the box is checked in Settings ,
but it won't update Time.

Guidelines:
We run 'ntpdate -q' once daily to check the ntpd sync status of the hosts in
our network. On one host, this check is failing sporadically today:
$ for i in `seq 1 10` ; do ntpdate -q 192.168.129.110 ; sleep 1 ; done
server 192.168.129.110, stratum 4, offset -0.001034, delay 0.02693
