It seems to be a kernel bug (or a compiler bug - the handbags are still
flying on that ;)). If this is the bug I think then Andi Kleen posted a
fix to the kernel list today so it should get

correctly in Auto mode. It does not respect any temperature settings
anymore. Instead it runs fans at full speed continually and leaves as the
