When I play videos in vlc or totem there is high cpu usage and cinnamon is
the one which contributes to most of the usage (around 50%) of the cpu
usage (according to the system monitor)
I have this issue after I upgraded from f20 from f19. I upgraded using yum
and my current DE is cinnamon
I recorded a bike-ride with a Go-Pro action camera, then I downloaded
the Mp4 to my laptop: Totem starts playing it fine but after 5 minutes
stops playing.
Same file is played fine by VLC. Format is Mp4
Any idea??

Actually the package which you were looking for is
gstreamer1-libav
which is I think pretty exclusive to Fedora 18, I don't think reinstalling
any of gstreamer-plugins could do the trick for you.

Yesterday my desktop PC was running Fedora 17 and I was able to watch
all kinds of video files using totem. This morning I used FedUp to
upgrade the PC to Fedora 18 and since then I haven't found a video
file that totem can play successfully. I always get an error message

The 32 bit machine though, in Firefox's Preferences → Application dialog,
With Fedora 15, Totem crashs if you open it the first time without a video
to play with, although it wors fine after you open it with a video and then
try to open it without it. I don't know if it's the same thing with Fedora
14 as I don't have it anymore.

I think, the chain - and the procedure only examines these key
decoders. If they are installed, then it means for the procedure an
end, because of that could mean that you don't need more. That's why
basically leaved so. If you do it manually, then it's your decision

libdvd, libcss2 and other proprietary tools to decode the DVD.
