rpm, logs, nsswitch.conf and sssd.conf. The SSSD team is pretty responsive, so

Indeed - for one last detail can you please show me your /etc/nsswitch.conf?
After that, I'd advise you to open a bug on Red Hat bugzilla against SSSD and
include the //etc/nsswitch.conf, and the rpm and log out put you have provided
me here.
