I have to disagree with "sudo su - is stupid." If it serves a purpose (as it does for me and others I work with) then I don't see it as being stupid. Can I use "su -", sure I can but then I have to remember roots password (do I know it yes, am I allowed to work as root, yes) but I almost always

Hi Markus, I had a similar problem and what I had to do was just mv the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file out of the way (I think system-config-display might be failing on trying to parse your exising xorg.conf file.) I had this problem with my ATI card but it might work for you too. -Tomas Müslüm Ejder
