If you're going to install another desktop to test configuration I would
suggest Cinnamon or Xfce. Gnome 3 has very few options, so you might not be
able to test much.

I've used Fedora in a 1GB RAM netbook but it was on Cinnamon and Mate
desktops, not Gnome. Never tried Gnome in a small machine.

Just pick another kernel from the list in GRUB and see what

If you use Yumex, just open it, look up for Compiz and select it for
deletion. Then apply and see if you're okay with the options (like
other stuff it will remove and so). Then apply, write your password
and leave the programme alone. ☺

Use "pdf import" tool. It's a Libreoffice addon. That tool allows
you to open your pdfs, edit them and save them as odg or export them
as pdf again.
Another useful tool is Okular, which is a stand alone for pdf.

I can't save my work because The Gimp shows me an error message
everytime I export it into jpeg format.
The message is "Jpeg complement failed"
Any thoughts?

You have a setting under Fonts in Gnome preferences, right?
If you change that setting, let's say picking Chancery font instead of
Sans font, what happens?
Do you see that change in Firefox? Or Firefox is still using its own
fonts settings?

Hi! I use Mate but I don't use Bluetooth. Take a look at
PostinstallerF, they have (usually) practical solutions for that
kind of missing applets or applications.

Usually Firefox uses anything configured in your desktop.
You should take a look to the fonts settings part in your desktop settings.

I tried them both and I find Kmymoney simpler and smaller than
Gnucash. But I really think that you should give both a try and see
which one fits you better.
