Hi,
I noticed some time ago that rc.local became a service. I'm just getting around
to address this issue but am having trouble getting my fedora 41 system to
"notice" my efforts.
Can someone post what they're doing to implement this new way of doing things,
please?
Best regards,

Hi,
I started getting i/o error messages accessing this filesystem so I rebooted
the system. This might have been the wrong thing to do. This subsequent boot
went to maintenance mode due the filesystem's path being in /etc/fstab.
I need some help with this please. Here is what mount says:

Hi,
I'm not sure what to do about this problem.
Is it a broken device? I'm seeing "no media found" messages too.
blockdev /dev/sr0 says:

I haven't used KDE in some time and am trying it again now.
I can't seem to find where sessions can be saved.
Am I missing something? Doing something wrong?
Any/all hints tips suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I have been away from plasma for a while and see some changes of course. One is
plaguing me though... namely, how does one manually save a session. It used to
be in the settings but I can't seem to find it now.
Could someone please point me to where I should look?
Best regards and STAY SAF
Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade a system here and am having some difficulty with dnf.
Could I get some help or tips or suggestions please?
Below is what I would enter in a bugzilla.redhat.com bug report. I thought I'd
check here first in case I've done something stupid.
Thanks,
George...

Hi,
My HDMI to TV (Samsung) stopped working 2 days ago and I'm trying to find out
how to test the port. This is a Fedora 33 (Rawhide) (x86_64) system. The cable
is good... swapped with a known working cable. Directional 15' Saphire

Hi,
I'm trying to help shoot a possible kernel bug which may create a dump. I'm
trying to find doc on how to enable the crashdump "features" of my FC33

tldp.org seems to be out of date
docs.fedoraproject.org doesn't seem to have a search facility...
Can anyone give me a hint
Ed,
I have re-installed this system and selected the "KDE Plasma Workspaces" but
without any optional packages since there is at least one pkg that fails and
TERMINATES the installation. I wrote a bug report on that. The installation
should at least allow the user to go back and de-select the f

Thanks for responding to my question.
Yes. The host AND guest are both fc32 x86_64 (rawhide). I forgot to put the

Apparently tstusr is a "dup" of root. I guess it was late when I did this.

Hi,
I just installed a Fedora Core 32 (x86_64) system in a VM running under
VirtualBox and am trying to ssh into the VM.
When I try to login I get a "client_loop: send disconnect: Broken pipe" message
for my trouble.
This is what I'm getting from the client side:
ssh -v tstusr@10.28.0.4OpenSSH_8.
Hi,
I have been seeing the enclosed lines PLUS a lot more (several pages worth).
Can anyone tell me which package they come from and/or how to eliminate them
please?

Hi,
I am attempting to remove old kernels from my system but "dnf erase

Hi,
Just my 2 cents.
first: I'm sure you remember that even if you find a huge file and remove it,
the space it occupies will not be available IF the file is still open. I had a
/var file system full some time ago and it was /var/log/messages that was HUGE.
Removing it didn't help until I re
Hi,
I have a 2TB HDD with a possibly major problem. I have cleared the data from it
and have tried to run "mke2fs -t ext4 -j /dev/sdc1" but after 24 hours it had
just finished the 0xaa phase and started reading when the drive seemingly

I'm hoping this isn't a UFU (user foul up) but I'm trying to use openoffice but

Have I missed something here?
