GTK is written in C, so you should have no problem with bindings. If your
build system complains about dependencies, just pull the relevant developer
package (they almost always end with "-devel", for example mypackage-devel).

Yes, when you are doing a group install (say, of GNOME) via Yum you are
only pulling a pre-grouped set of packages. All these packages are still
available on an individual basis, and you can install them individually as

Can you still log into the normal tty:s? Try ctrl-alt-f6 for example.
Not sure exactly what is broken here...but running "ls -l /usr/bin | grep
login" and see what it says. Possibly some permissions were not set
properly because of the failed update.
