I managed to figure that out after I sent the email.  What confused me was that for 1 and 2 TB drives fdisk -l says the drives are: Device Boot Start    End    Sectors  Size Id Type /dev/sdc1  * 2048 3907029166 3907027119  1.8T  7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT for 4 and 8 TB drives dfisk -l shows
