I just rebooted and logged in, just to see what would happen. My
headphones were still shown in the KDE system tray Bluetooth applet.
But, no sound. No suprise. So, I opened a terminal, ran
"bluetoothctl" and this is what came up:

Everything works now! Using bluetoothctl got my headphones paired,
and changing the priority of soundcard vs. headphones in KDE
systemsettings to put the headphones first resulted in actual sound
coming out of my headphones! Thank you very much.

I am not very familiar with bluetooth adapters, but you may want to
play with or search for bluetoothctl (as root) assuming that you have
bluez installed.

How do I systematically deal or solve a problem with a linux LVM setup
