Anyway, FC14 install reports that there is NOT enough memory for a

Anyone know the simplest technique for setting special
driver options for the radeon driver? Do I need to do

kernel mode setting? Can I put a simple driver spec

That is correct. This is a headless system, it has no runlevel 5, so
the gdm configs don't apply.

The problem was solved by download the .iso file using another computer.
The corrupted file was downloaded using Kget this utility some how it
got activated, because originally wasn't there this is the only visible
thing different. I like to remove Kget or disable but I do not know
how.

Check /etc/hosts - make sure that any entry for your IP address has its
proper hostname listed first, and not "localhost".
A new crontabs package was released that fixed this problem.

Yes, Vinny, the first line, Fedora-14-i386-DVD.iso: FAILED, indicates
the image is corrupt. Somebody else will have to say _why_ it is
corrupt. I would suspect hardware, mostly memory. Have you run
memtest?

Btw: does it work four you, with F14? What happens when you open up a
console in Gnome, su to root, and do an "init 3"? I'm just curious.

I can reproduce this problem on F14/i686.
Emacs crashes if it is run from a shell spawned by 'su' only.
This is because root's enviroment isn't setup.
If you su - and run emacs then emacs pops up but there are various assertion
errors printed to the terminal session.

I'd seriously consider if the box is okay/check the installation.
Are you using systemd?
And by the way it's just F14. FC6 was the last Fedora to bear the Core name.

Hi,
after a boot into Gnome and opening a root console,
switching to runlevel 3 (or whatever) fails. "init 3" or "telinit 3"
does simply nothing, and the box begins to lock up. There's no problem to
boot into runlevel 3 or whatever.
Does anybody here encounter the same, and know a solution?
