Dear Tharanga, Dear Alejandro,

I'm still having issues with this at the moment.
I don't believe that our smsc provider has correctly set things up their end.
They have asked for some debug output of Kannel trying to bind to them.
But I don't see any debug at at all showing the binding attempt, even though
I've created a log fil
change the log-level to 4 and see.

Yeah I already tried that but it still shows no binding attempts.
It just tells me everytime it can't connect to the SMS center.

Then you quite probably either have a network problem between you and
the SMSC, you have entered a wrong ip-address or port in the config
file, or the operator has not allowed access from your IP-address in
their firewall or SMSC.
Ask the operator if they have forgot to activate yoru account,
In answer to both replies.
Yeah I took out all the NULL values as suggested.
I've confirmed with the operator their IP and port and they seem certain
that they have opened their firewall to the IP address of the our Kannel
server. Although he has gone away to double check.
In the meantime I'l
But my question is , it should log all the details to kannel log.
(retring cant connect to smsc..etc..ip and all the details..) why it's
not displaying in the logs..
try a netstat also and tcpdump to ur smpp provider's ip..
can u ping to ur default gateway ? or try a traceroute to the smpp
pro
Hi all,
Thanks for the tips,
I did install Sierra drivers, and still get absolutely nothing on the modem.
As Alvaro noticed, the keep alive string : AT+CBC;+CSQ gets an empty
string result. So I am assuming the modem has some problem.
I am thinking about getting a new one, so I'd like your inputs
Hi,
An excellent modem with long kannel track record is the Wavecom fasttrack.
However, not to throw your money away on your (Zadacom)? modem try the
technical support from your store beforehand.
SIM brand is irrelevant.

Hi,
1) Try this:
([tT][iI][mM][eE]|[dD][aA][tT][aA])
Or make 2 services 1 for time the other for data
2) Try "accepted-accounts" and "accepted-accounts-regex" in sms-service
configuration.

Nikos

OK,
Then please assign also different admin ports to each bearerbox on the same
server. Your configuration file, as it stands, is faulty and kannel can react
unpredictably. It is difficult to track problems and issues with correct
configuration files, let alone with faulty ones. When you ask fo

Hello all,
I'm designing a high-volume sms application (MT & MO, plus reverse billing)
and wondered if anyone had any recommendations about the most optimal
hardware connection type you've used to attach to the telecom network(s).
I'm not in a position to describe the nature of the traffic as yet
Hello,
well, the most OPTIMAL hardware connection is surely SS7. But then
kannel is out of the game and you need a real smsc. But high volume
traffic with constant high traffic should be routed directly to the
carriers/MNOs and no aggregators in between. So best take a phone, try
to get s
so true about Murphys SMS law ...

I have managed to get 100 sms/sec with 2mbps and a two-server kannel conf (one
bearerbox, one smsbox). Servers had 1gb ram each (cloud servers from gogrid).
Great statement about the sms murphys law btw Falko. So true.
