This is really a name-service issue. Basically, you just need to configure the
naming service on each machine on the LAN so that the domain name "intranet"
maps to the IP address of the apache server. For example, if the apache machine
has IP 192.168.1.1 then you put in /et

You have to define exactly what "canot be seen" means. Is it:
- 404 not found
- 403 Forbidden
- 500 server error
- computer explodes

In any case, what does it say in the access log and the error log when you try

I have to revise my opinion about that now that you have changed the
redirection. The IP address of new.bio-world.com is 66.64.142.34. The address I
was redirected to is differen
Here is the situation:
DNS has entry of
new CNAME bio-world.com
bio-world is hosted at 66.64.142.34(IIS) and then there is redirection for
new.bio-world.com to 66.64.142.35 where the new.bio-world.com apache.
Somehow if i enter in DNS new CNAME 66.64.142.35 it doesnt work. I dont know
why.

Of course. You will probably have to install CF again in order to use it
with Apache though.
If you're talking completely separate on a different port, you can just
install Apache. If you want CFMs on Apache sites, reinstall CF.

I use the coldfusion
administrator to
connect to a datasource is that similar
to the way that apache connects to a datasource. Is there a place that can show me how to
do this.
Naturally dreamweaver is set up to work with coldfusion but I would like to use apache and php on dreamweaver?
Sounds about right. From the looks of bugzilla for Apache 1.3, there are
several issues with ErrorLog piping. For my purposes though, I am able
to pipe the log messages through a tee first and then back out to
rotatelogs. That way at least I can put a timestamp on the
"Terminated"s. I'll have to ch
dreamweaver is just a program for coding or design.
I dont understand what exactly you want to have but if you want ot be able to
preview *.php files on your com you have to have apache and php compiled on your
computer. They are bothefairly easy to install if you follow the instrunctions
