I never had such an unreliable installation as the one for fedora 26. I
am a long time user of fedora (at least since 2003).
The HW here:
1. Workstation with two disks, each having its own fedora installation.
On each fedora bare-metal installation there is a fedora installation

are you using php-fpm as a cgi frontend? If yes: the stdout and stderr
are both redirectet to the php-fpm log (/var/log/php-fpm/*) if you have
in /etc/php-fpm/www.conf:
catch_workers_output = yes
I don't think this will solve all your problems, but it is a good
starting point.

looks OK to me. In order to have slapd take notice of that you have to
write it into
olcDatabase={n}{type}, cn=config
as attribute olcDbIndex.
with n beeing the running number of the Database (such as 2), and type
beeing the type (such as bdb) of the Database.

files for correctnes. e.g.

The files in these directories will be shown/executed by apache, as long
as their types are in apache mime/types. These are mainly files of
mime/type text/plain, etc.
Take these file types out of apache mime/types and they will be
downloaded by apache.
