Well, yes, you could do it with mod_rewrite. You could also presumably use
a proxypassmatch as part of your tomcat setup if the whitelist is simple
enough to express it as one regex. I expect, though, that mod_security will
give you the biggest ! for your $ in a nontrivial scenario.

For example, if this RewriteRule is in a .htaccess file, rather than in

Dear Apache httpd enthusiast,
As you may be aware, ApacheCon will be held this year in Budapest, on
November 17-23. (See http://apachecon.eu for more info.)
All well & good for folks who have the funding to trave
ve to have a full track of httpd content, with more than just
the same old faces as every year. And if you're a first-time speaker,
and you want someone to give a proposal a first look, I would be
delighted to do that for you.
Thanks!

could create a custom log file format which
contained the hostname, and then post-process to split it up, or log to
a pipe to give you live splitting if that's needed.

To unsubscr
implementing it in the authz handler but
unless I'm reading the documentation incorrectly it should be possible with
mod_rewrite too.
It probably should, but LA-U is a finicky beast.

and avoid the convolutions of mod_rewrite here. Assuming your in-house
mod_perl auth handler returns a 403 on auth failure.

those. Could be that some of the other projects around Big Data might
also be a good place to ask.
