I wouldn't rely on balancer_manager for a such monitoring because I've
seen situations when it reported "Ok" status for workers that were
down.
As alternative method you can use sniffing Apache error_log file for
the messages about disabled workers. You can OSSEC for that for
example.

Hi Folks,
We've recently set up mod_proxy_balancer as a replacement for Pound, and
I'm trying to work out the best way to monitor the load balancer to
determine which servers are "in the loop" and which servers are "out of
the loop". I'd ideally like to tie this in to Nagios so that I can get

Is there a way that this modules will be integrated in mod_ssl one day ?

Sander,
I have not shared my configuration because I did not change any of the
default settings. All I changed were related to the certificate file
and certificate key file (plus the server name and listen parameters).
I did not see a need to do this, as my SSL-enabled site can be accessed

Sorry for top posting but I am coming in late to this discussion. I once had
a problem like this in Firefox with Apache 2.0.x using Verisign chained

OK. I will do what Graeme and Sander suggest, but I am not sure why
this will help solve the problem. As many of you have pointed out,
SSL-enabling a site usually does not cause any browsing problems when
using Firefox.
Another reason is that I searched the Internet (google search on the

Sander,
I disagree that the problem lies on the Client side because I have been
to sites that have identical certificates as I was using and still
browse those sites. I tend to believe that the problem is on the server
side.
