T'was Friday afternoon here too... Now it's Monday morning :->
I suggest that the original poster tries to execute the shell script with the
-x switch as argument to confirm that httpd is indeed launched before crashing:
sh -x apachectl start
However, since Apache actually starts when removing

Hi,I turned on my apache to debugging level and here'swhat I got:Upon visiting the protected site...Entering ldap_authenticate_basic_userauthenticate: using URLldap://192.168.0.3:389/ou=people,o=example,dc=comauthenticate: result is 401Now, after entering my credentials in the loginform...Entering
Hopefully a simple problem.
When I run apache on win2k a few years ago I edited a config file so
that directory listings would not be formatted. This had the effect of
showing the entire name of very long file names.
Now I'm using slackware linux and for the life of me I can't find which

If you substitute "si
Meir - I think you are getting confused with apache 2.0.x
and 2.2.x series. Apache 2 series supports various different
MPM modules - 1.3 doesn't IIRC.

Apache 1.3 is always single-threaded on unix, so your question doesn't
make much sense.

what does the event log in windows
say? Start->Control Panel->Administrative tools->Event

See if there are any messages from

1) check out http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/howto/auth.html
2) it is automatically logged in the
access.log file. check that out.

Hi guys,
I am really new to the Apache and I would like to do the
following:-
Introduce
password authentication access for some of my sites on my web folder (i.e.
htdocs/). How can I do that ?
What do I need to configure my config file to

I had been running the 2.0.54 version of Apache on Windows XP Pro for several months without any major issues. The server is configured to start as a windows service at boot time. Recently, I was making changes the the conf file which of course required restarts of the server for the changes t
Hello
in
the configuration of apache 1.3.27 , is there any possibility to make apache

I'm not a Sun person, so I'm not sure about the kernel thread calls (all
the LWP stuff).
Not sure about FieldInfo, but X509ParseCertificate definitely sounds
like SSL, but unless I'm mistaken, not like OpenSSL. Nor like anything
I'd expect to see in Apache... Maybe it's something else that you'r

I'm not sure what "inner use" you're referring to. To the best of my
knowledge, only the mod_ssl shared object and the client programs (like
ab) link against openssl. I'm not even sure that you can get SSL
support in the 1.3 series without the mod_ssl patch...
What exactly are you worried about?
Hello
all
I
compiled apache 1.3.27 on SunOs , I wanted to know if I can disable the use of
SSL in apache
I
don’t use mod_sll but maybe apache has its own inner use of ssl , if it does
how can I disable it ?
thanks
