What if the browser crashes or the user turns off the device ? Releasing
critical resources on window close or unload is not a good design. What

There is this illusion that HTML/CSS/JS is "easy" to do.
But as requirements change, the codebase grows and the team becomes bigger

Great Stuff.
cant wait to see this come together in a easy to use way.
I ve been doing the same with GWT
Basically cross compile from Java and run inside PhoneGap.
Keep up the good work.

Flex Iframe component works well with Google Maps in Flex apps.
We use that around here and everything works super fine.

Thats another reason why we went away from actionscript based flex
Development and leverage Java in the entire Stack. With actionscript there

We hav had this requirement lots of time and I wrote about it here in the
forum.
We solve this using one single language(good for enterprise scale apps)
without the need of outputing JS from Flex.

Exporting the Maps API to Flash/ActionScript should be doable.
This is basically what we do in Java using GWT and FaBridge.

Hello Flex folks,

For those who dont know it Flash4j is our GWT based library that enables
developers to write Flash/Flex applications
in Java instead of Actioncript.

Going to add my 2cents to this.
I m one the guy behind Emitrom.
I created a Java API for the Flash platform called Flash4j(
http://emitrom.com/flex4j).
Which allows Java Devs to write Flash apps in Java.
Despite all the "Flash is dead" talk our experience has been the totally
opposite. Flash4j is

There is no question iFrames have their issues.
But i d rather have that then having nothing at all.
The component could have an "experimantal" flag on it or something like
that.

So for us the future still looks bright for Flash/Flex and we dont see that
changing anytime soon.
