Hi Marty,
What Simon has mentioned below.. Use the "Windows PV" option for your template.
Thanks

Thank you, Prashanth.
I am attempting to create a template and I am having a time getting the NIC to
be the Redhat VirtIO driver. It keeps wanting to use the E1000 NIC. I do not
have any exclamation points in the device manager. All of the drivers are

Hello,
I am creating my template for KVM for Windows, and I wanted to ask about the

I know I need to add things like the local disk drivers, balloon driver, NIC,
etc. But what else should be included? Should I add the SR-IOV driver? The
guest-agent?

Hello Pierre,
I found out what was going on. It was the template. Thank you for your guidance

Hi,
Make sure you have the virtio drivers installed.
Linux has them by default, but Windows opted not to have support for it,
so you will have to do it for them.
If you do not use virtio devices (ie paravirt) your IO will suffer.

Hi Guys
I run KVM node via Cloudstack, and want to confirm if there are any
additional guest agents & drivers that I need to install to my guest VM?
For both Linux and Windows guests?

Hi,
I'm trying to add some Windows templates to my test cloud and by using the
"Windows Server 2016" I end up with Intel 1000 NICs instead of virtio ones;
this is a bit suboptimal.
When I add the template initially I can see I can specify a type of storage -
virtio-scsi is what I need, however
I am running into an issue where a system VM is not able to load the E1000
drivers on a XenServer 7 host.. I can see that it has been "removed" in
XenServer 7 and there is a "hack" to make it work but its not supported.. Has
anyone else seen this?

Hi Ragael,
actually I'm running 4.0.3 :)
But I will check this, and let you know - there is compile flag to compile
without LRO, which I did, but... :)

Hi Andrija,
I guess you're running 3.23.2.1 driver?
If so, try going to the source dir and run:
sed -i -e '/#include /a #define IXGBE_NO_LRO'
src/kcompat.h
recompile & test
give feedback :)
Good luck,

On CS 4.1 based Xen host , specifying "Other PV" for a windows VM in which

Hi, no, you should continue to use the applicable Windows OS Types for

Windows OS Type. Furthermore, on XenServer hosts a Windows VM won't
work at all with a PV mode OS Type such as "Other PV". Those OS Types

Hi,
If a Windows VM is spun from a template that is not marked as "Other PV",
