Hi,
There was a bug opened on this global parameter
vmware.reserve.mem(https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-4498) and
it was fixed.
Can you please try with latest 4.2.

No, right now everything is just in test mode. My mgmt server has one NIC and

Hi Michael,
Did you get a chance to log into the CPVM and look at the logs? There might be
something in there.

I know this may sound silly, but I haven't found clear instructions on how
to setup CS 4.2 "without deb packages" can some provide me with some
insight on how to set it up.
Thank you
Hi, did you figure this out? It sounds like you are changing global

These settings exist in previous versions and (despite the name) are for

Doesn't createUbuntuCSimageXen.sh basically create a RAW image?
If so, it could be converted to VHD using vhd-util:

Tested and retested, still everything works.
Cloudinit is nice addition too. Resized root for me. ;-)
I have no need for ac2 user, so it was removed from template creation.

That is very odd that you are not able to register it without bunziping it.

I've registered it another time, but using your URL directly, so it was
bziped.
It _worked_ again and i'm about to deploy another test instance from it.
The problem must not be in the template.

Thanks Carlos
I have setup it as "Other PV 64 bit" (Xenserver 6.0.2 and CS 4.1.1 )
however I'm getting an exception "RuntimeError: Unable to find partition

So far, this template is broken :(

Works for me. Even password was set successfully.
Now i need to test if updating (apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrage)

Thank you Carlos!

I register it as is, compressed. Have not had any issues doing it that way with

Yeah I have done that prior importing it, otherwise it won't let me, I see
that the template has successfully installed, but I'm still getting that
error when I try and deploy new vm.
I will try to import it directly to xenserver and see if it works.

Hmm. Don't know. I don't have partitions on it.
What os is your management server? I am wondering if there is a difference in
the way the template is getting registered.

yes. SSH works. I also installed CitrixXenCenter and it works fine (starting

Any other ideas? :(

So to put the management network on a VLAN on VMware would I just specify a
management network label for example if I wanted VLAN 96: "vSwitch0,96" ?

If you change the LINK to
http://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/releases/precise/release/ubuntu-12.04-server-cloudimg-amd64-root.tar.gz
it wont redirect and things should stay current for newer point releases and
you wont have to update the script when newer versions are cut.

The script should be run from an Ubuntu 12.04 machine otherwise chroot will not
work right.

This is odd. It downloads it as .3 for me. Hmm. I'll change it so that one
downloads the tar outside of the script and passes it in instead.

Well it's pretty easy.
1. Connect to Ubuntu (or CentOS).
2. Dl all from https://github.com/creategui/CloudStackImageScripts (make
it executable using chmod a+x createUbuntuCSimageXen.sh)
3. Fix URL in createUbuntuCSimageXen.sh like this:
