Hi All
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of build OS filesystems on
Ubuntu. I've downloaded the UMLBuilder application but it's only available
as an RPM.
Would you recommend using a pre-created FS and just modifying it for my own
needs?

Debootstrap works just fine. I use that exact procedure to create
ubuntu images all the time. Note that you probably want
something
larger than a 750 MB filesystem, as a large Ubuntu install can
grow to
be a couple GB over several years.
