Yes, that's my homepage, and I ship patches indeed. I don't ship binary
kernels at the moment, sor

It is. You'll have to compile your kernel.

Yes, it's possible. But it must be a recent kernel. If you use 2.4.28-bs2
(from my homepage), it works. If you use 2.4.24-1um, it doesn't.

Hi!
I've another question: can I use a kernel 2.4 (for um) on a kernel 2.6 (host)?
Many thanks,

Correct, just that 2.6.11 almost works for almost everyone. Actually the bug
you hit is not compilation-only, sadl

Paolo,
I appreciate all the work that you put in for making UML usable - it
makes my life (and others I am sure) easier. Sames goes for work Jeff
does.

Yes it is GCC specific but if you remove the double up of the enum
define in sys_call_table.c it will work for ALL versions
I presume you have read both things... e-mail below in case you haven't

Sorry for my previous mail - I just found your report. Still,
I would think that you would have better luck with FC3 and a
relatively new compiler.
I have tested 2.6.10 and 2.6.11 now on an older host kernel (and
published fixes for 2.6.11) so newers ones should be fine if not
you can read my posts as to how to fix 2.6.11. I will play with UML on
my FC3

Hello all,
I am running kernel 2.6.8 on FC3 and I am wondering which 2.6 kernels I
can run under user mode linux. Seems that some of them do not compile
from reading the mailing list. I am using gcc 3.3.4 and I have
installed the user mode linux utilities rpm from the website. Thanks, --
