I would suggest having that page submit to another action path that maps
to the same Action and Form you need, but with the validate option set
to false. This is the tactic that I normally use. It allows you to
keep your code base intact, but submit to a customized path.

This is not a struts issue. You have a few choices. JavaScript is a poor
one, in my opinion. Use two response objects: one to give them the option
and the second to give them the option the second time. Another way to do
this is to archive the record instead of deleting it and only delete it

To add the functionality to your JSP you will need to
1) Add the tld to your web.xml.
2) Add the tld to your JSP.
This tag also works with indexed beans as droplisttag.java is extended
from writetag.java.
