You may need to specify the hive port itself. For example, my own Thrift
start command is in the form:
./sbin/start-thriftserver.sh --master spark://$myserver:7077
--driver-class-path $CLASSPATH --hiveconf hive.server2.thrift.bind.host
$myserver --hiveconf hive.server2.thrift.port 1
